Congratulations Melbourne Vixens!

The Melbourne Vixens have backed up a season blemished by just one loss to win the 2009 ANZ Championship at a packed Hisense Arena.

The Vixens, who played several regular season home games at Hisense, have built a strong following and their fans' high expectations were duly rewarded with a decisive 54-46 victory over the Adelaide Thunderbirds.  

Combining the best of Trans Tasman and parochial state versus state rivalries, the ANZ Championship has achieved great things in its short lifespan.

Hisense Arena will surely see many more big crowds when the determined Vixens set out to defend their title in 2010.
