The Melbourne & Olympic Parks precinct is steeped in sporting history. With beginnings dated back before the 1956 Olympics, the precinct has seen several world and national championship competitions ranging across several sporting disciplines.

Current tenants Tennis Australia, Melbourne Storm and Melbourne Victory play a large role in the sporting culture within the precinct. The addition of the new Melbourne Rectangular Stadium looks to grow the precinct’s reputation as the home of sport in a city known for hosting great sporting events.

The Commonwealth Games and the FINA World Swimming Championships 2007 have recently contributed to grow the precinct’s presence on the world sporting stage.
